Are you good enough, clever enough, good looking enough? If you think not, would you consider your answer to be objective? Are you one of those people who has an inner critic that Satan would be jealous of? Well it’s time to see yourself as you really are; gifted, worthy and capable of anything you chose to be.
Time to put an end to yourself criticism and look at yourself objectively.
Follow these 7 steps below and you will be lacking in confidence no more.
1. Monitor the Negative Voice
Start by monitoring your negative voice. Notice when you are self-critical, and observe the conversations that go on in your head. When you become aware of the conversations, you can then work on changing them. Your job is to ensure that the voice in your head is positive and supportive at all times and not negative and critical.
2. Friends &Family
Ask your family and friends for their honest opinions about what your strengths are. What do they think you are good at? What were you good at when you were a child? If you want an extensive review, write out a checklist, and ask them what they think of you in the listed areas. Ask a couple of people and then you can see if the opinions are similar—just make sure the person you ask is not someone who is jealous of you or would have any reason to hurt or offend you.
3. No Comparisons
Don’t compare yourself with others—it’s a recipe for disaster. You only need to be good enough for you, so it doesn’t matter what you sister, brother, friend or enemy has achieved. Make your own standards and set goals that are right for you.
4. Journalling
Take a long look at yourself and write a page describing yourself. Journalling can be a great way to look at yourself objectively. Tell your story like it belongs to someone else. What do you honestly think you are good at? Nobody has to see what you write, just write for you. Write down all of your past achievements—start with last year and write about anything that went well, and then extend the list year by year, making sure you include all of your achievements.
5. Personality Assessment
Do a Personality assessment, like the Myers Briggs or DISK personality profile quizzes. These assessments are a great way to understand yourself and to see how you fit in in the world; your personal strengths will become more apparent when you are familiar with your own personality.
6. Create a Positive Environment
Make sure that you surround yourself with people who love and support you. If criticism is coming from external sources, remove yourself from the environments that encourage negativity. If you don’t have any friends or family members who inspire and uplift you, join a community that will. There are many groups, both online and offline, that have been formed to encourage people towards a happier and positive life; join one.
7. Drown Yourself in Positivity
Create affirmations that uplift you. Post positive messages to yourself all over your house and work, and every time you say something negative to yourself, replace it with positive thoughts or words. The most important thing to remember is that you are in control of your thoughts. Any past negative patterns can be broken but you must fill the void with positive supportive thoughts and words. Remember that it’s important to be happy with who you, are and to achieve things in life that are right for you. So get a bit of perspective, look at yourself objectively and learn how to be happy with who you are.

前幾個(gè)禮拜,為了英語(yǔ)讀者劇場(chǎng)比賽,英文老師和劉老師不停的教導(dǎo)我們,九位同學(xué)如何讓每個(gè)句子唸得高低起伏、抑揚(yáng)頓挫并加入感動(dòng)觀(guān)眾的情感,同時(shí)告訴我們?cè)趺匆詴r(shí)而適當(dāng)時(shí)而夸張的表情傳達(dá)故事的意義。我們馬不停蹄、加緊腳步的認(rèn)真練習(xí)了好久。當(dāng)然準(zhǔn)備了這么久,無(wú)非不是希望正式比賽,能有優(yōu)異而杰出的表現(xiàn)。
當(dāng)天,英文老師替緊張的我們打扮得引人注目,把臉蛋畫(huà)上濃濃的妝,幫頭發(fā)設(shè)計(jì)造型。到了休息區(qū)先加緊認(rèn)真練習(xí),我們是第十一組,大家有時(shí)專(zhuān)注的練習(xí),有時(shí)從電視中觀(guān)賞其他隊(duì)伍的演出。當(dāng)?shù)搅说谑M演出時(shí),我們各個(gè)冒出帶著不安的`汗水,臉色顯露出恐懼,而老師則是拉高嗓音,不斷的重復(fù)「一定得放大音量!」……等等的注意事項(xiàng),這些提醒使我們更加惶惶不安!
「現(xiàn)在,請(qǐng)第十一組上臺(tái)!」那時(shí),我們各個(gè)頭皮發(fā)麻,全身僵硬,勉強(qiáng)憋住氣露出了硬梆梆、不好看的微笑。上臺(tái)了,我們?cè)摯舐晻r(shí)大聲,并做出夸張的手勢(shì),且露出了牙齒,做出邪惡張牙舞爪的動(dòng)作,下面的觀(guān)眾與評(píng)審則是,時(shí)而被我們的演出所感染而跟著微笑,時(shí)而因我們可怕的表情而露出了受驚嚇的神色。下臺(tái)時(shí),我們把原先僵硬的臉蛋放輕松。此時(shí),我們自然得露出了淺淺的微笑。
「萬(wàn)歲!萬(wàn)歲!我們?nèi)脒x了!」我們?cè)谌䝼(gè)參賽隊(duì)中勇奪第五名!這句話(huà)在我心中不停的吶喊著、打轉(zhuǎn)著,臉上同時(shí)浮現(xiàn)了混雜著驕傲與感動(dòng)的神情。此刻,老師興奮的又叫又跳,還自掏腰包買(mǎi)可樂(lè)及冰淇淋犒賞我們,這一切都要感謝老師辛苦的教導(dǎo)及同學(xué)們合作無(wú)間的奮力演出,期許我們?cè)跊Q賽中能夠贏(yíng)得更亮眼的成績(jī)。

此次比賽本著“人人參與”的原則,在初中三個(gè)年級(jí)中進(jìn)行。以《My holidy》(我的假期)為題,學(xué)生們現(xiàn)場(chǎng)發(fā)揮,在30分鐘的.時(shí)間內(nèi)寫(xiě)出一篇100詞作文。比賽過(guò)程中,參賽選手胸有成竹,屏氣凝神,嚴(yán)格遵守比賽規(guī)則,表現(xiàn)出優(yōu)秀的參賽風(fēng)格。全部同學(xué)在規(guī)定時(shí)間內(nèi)完成,甚至有幾位同學(xué)提前做完,顯示出同學(xué)們對(duì)英語(yǔ)的有效掌握。學(xué)生作文水平雖顯稚嫩,但從單詞、句子的運(yùn)用,到語(yǔ)法篇章的安排,都顯示出了英語(yǔ)教學(xué)有了明顯的進(jìn)步,這是同學(xué)們勤學(xué)英語(yǔ)的結(jié)果,也是每位實(shí)踐隊(duì)員辛勤教學(xué)的結(jié)果。最終,趙芳同學(xué)脫穎而出榮獲一等獎(jiǎng),劉涵、趙紫、趙偉等分獲二、三等獎(jiǎng),隊(duì)員們?yōu)槠漕C發(fā)獎(jiǎng)狀、獎(jiǎng)品,以資鼓勵(lì)。賽后,實(shí)踐團(tuán)將同學(xué)們的作品在櫥窗中展示,以供大家交流學(xué)習(xí)。同學(xué)們表示今后一定再接再厲,學(xué)好英語(yǔ)。隊(duì)員們鼓勵(lì)大家在日常生活中也要勤學(xué)勤用,在實(shí)踐中探索英語(yǔ)的奧秘。

記得那是三年級(jí)的一天,我們正在上課,程老師面帶笑容地走進(jìn)教師,把我叫到辦公室,并高興地對(duì)我說(shuō):“你已被定為參加英語(yǔ)歌比賽的一名選手!蔽衣(tīng)后,心里就像十五個(gè)吊桶打水——七上八下,一時(shí)不知所措,不由地皺起了眉頭。
老師見(jiàn)我一副為難的.樣子,知道了我的心思。笑著對(duì)我說(shuō):“是不是有點(diǎn)緊張?”我點(diǎn)點(diǎn)頭。老師又說(shuō):“其實(shí)呀,我第一次當(dāng)老師也是像你這樣,但是我對(duì)自己充滿(mǎn)信心,再加上努力學(xué)習(xí),充分備課,這樣一天天下來(lái)也就不緊張了,懂嗎?”我似懂非 懂地點(diǎn)點(diǎn)頭。
以后,我早早起來(lái)就背英語(yǔ)單詞,晚上吃好晚飯做完作業(yè)又背英語(yǔ)單詞,經(jīng)過(guò)我的不懈努力,終于把英語(yǔ)單詞背熟了?墒俏业母星檫不夠到位,所以又在課余時(shí)間請(qǐng)老師指導(dǎo)。
比賽那天不知不覺(jué)就到了,我和爸爸、程老師到了歙縣教育局的多媒體教室,這里可真是人山人海!......終于輪到我唱了。我拿著話(huà)筒,既高興又緊張,高興的是有機(jī)會(huì)站在臺(tái)前唱英語(yǔ)歌,為校爭(zhēng)光;緊張的是:畢竟是第一次唱英語(yǔ)歌,怕唱不好,鬧笑話(huà)。但在臺(tái)下,有爸爸給我加油,老師給我鼓勵(lì)。于是,我鼓足勇氣,唱了起來(lái)......唱完后,我用目光搜尋著爸爸和老師,他們正滿(mǎn)意地對(duì)我笑呢!

比賽開(kāi)始。首先,是兩位主持人一番簡(jiǎn)短的'介紹,然后選手開(kāi)始挨個(gè)兒上臺(tái)。每個(gè)人都有一份課件,上面是演講內(nèi)容,選手要流暢地背出稿子,才能得高分。他們一口流利的英語(yǔ),聽(tīng)得我云里霧里。我不由得感嘆道,這就是差距啊!不過(guò)根據(jù)課件上的英文,我還是認(rèn)出了一些單詞。
選手的情況也不同:有的一口英語(yǔ)說(shuō)得頭頭是道,聽(tīng)得人一愣一愣的;有的上了臺(tái)過(guò)于緊張,忘了詞,又下來(lái)整理整理思緒再上臺(tái);也有的背得不錯(cuò),卻出了一點(diǎn)小插曲的……可謂是千姿百態(tài)。
選手們講的內(nèi)容各不相同:有的流暢地講了那些經(jīng)典的故事;有的介紹了自己喜歡的動(dòng)物或東西;還有的講了自己從一句話(huà)或者一件事中感悟的道理……內(nèi)容各不相同。

今天是英語(yǔ)比賽的復(fù)賽,我和爸爸早上早早的起床,然后出去吃早餐,我們到車(chē)站坐上車(chē)以后,我驚奇的發(fā)現(xiàn)我和聶澤坤做的竟然是同一班車(chē)!我們因?yàn)殡x得很遠(yuǎn),所以路上沒(méi)有說(shuō)話(huà)。到了以后爸爸給我買(mǎi)了一瓶水就打出租車(chē)來(lái)到了我們比賽地點(diǎn)廣電大廈,我們向保安人員問(wèn)清了演播廳在哪兒,就去了,正好又碰上了聶澤坤,他正好也要進(jìn)去,我覺(jué)得我們像有緣分一樣。然后老師要開(kāi)始點(diǎn)名了,因?yàn)樾彰陔娔X上,所以我就和聶澤坤一起看了看名單,發(fā)現(xiàn)喬尚卿(2班的一位同學(xué))第一,聶澤坤第二我第三,我們還發(fā)現(xiàn),指導(dǎo)教師應(yīng)該都是于海洋(Ms yu),喬尚卿的卻被打成了丁海洋!我和聶澤坤都笑了起來(lái)。
開(kāi)始點(diǎn)名了,我們?cè)邳c(diǎn)名的桌子前面站成兩排,喬尚卿抽了34號(hào),聶澤坤抽了33號(hào),而我卻抽了14號(hào)!我們離得太遠(yuǎn)了,就連不會(huì)的單詞都不能互相問(wèn)一下。比賽開(kāi)始了我們來(lái)到一個(gè)大廳里,在里面按順序坐好,開(kāi)始抽紙條,上面寫(xiě)著單詞,后面寫(xiě)著幾個(gè)人表演,我抽了一個(gè)紙條上面寫(xiě)著:Look snake help a boy (4人)。一個(gè)工作人員就又找了3個(gè)人和我合作。我們編排的故事情節(jié)大體是這樣的:一個(gè)男孩在森林里散步,忽然看見(jiàn)了一條蛇,有兩個(gè)小女孩路過(guò),救起了小男孩,殺死了那條蛇。我上臺(tái)比賽的時(shí)候非常緊張,但是雖然心里緊張,表面上卻看不出來(lái),我相信在選手里面我是最放松的`一個(gè)。最后經(jīng)過(guò)好久的比賽,評(píng)出了成績(jī),我的成績(jī)不太理想,不過(guò)還是得了一等獎(jiǎng),我驚喜的跳了起來(lái),心里準(zhǔn)備參加下一次比賽,但是后來(lái)工作人員的一句話(huà)潑了我一身冷水:特等獎(jiǎng)的才有機(jī)會(huì)參加山東省的決賽!
