　　Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them. Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty. Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

　　上個月，希望之星昂立英語大賽報名了！我興奮不已，立刻報上名，拿到了一個名額。

　　報上名后我才知道，全市有二千多人參加這次比賽，選拔賽后只有500個晉級名額，一聽到這個消息，我馬上像泄了氣的皮球，沒有信心了。那天晚上，輪到我上場了，我從容地走上臺，勉強(qiáng)把稿子背了一遍，下臺后才發(fā)現(xiàn)嘴里竟還含著口香糖呢！沒想到公布成績時我竟然也晉級了！真讓我又驚訝又高興！

　　復(fù)賽時，我的分?jǐn)?shù)不是很高，但還是順利晉級。這下我忽然擔(dān)心起來，生怕決賽時被刷下來了。回家后，我又把稿子重新修改了一遍，把每個單詞、每個句子都反復(fù)朗讀，做到精確無誤，還用心設(shè)計了每一個動作。我信心滿滿地走上臺，一開口，評委的臉上就露出了笑容，我流暢地做著自我介紹、演講、才藝展示。我們五個人都講完了，評委進(jìn)行了認(rèn)真的點(diǎn)評，最后公布成績——— 我取得了我們組的`最高分！這一次又順利晉級了！我高興得心花怒放，合不攏嘴。媽媽也高興地抱著我親了又親。

　　這次比賽意義非凡，我一生也忘不了，因?yàn)槲覐倪@次比賽中懂得了成功只留給那些準(zhǔn)備充分的人！

　　老師通知我今天下午去迎澤區(qū)少年宮參加英語口語比賽，我和媽媽中午一點(diǎn)半就從家中出發(fā)了，天氣真熱呀！

　　一走進(jìn)大門就看見許多同學(xué)在排隊，我拿著參賽證報了到，一位老師把我安排在最前面，我看了看周圍，有的同學(xué)拿著稿子在那兒讀，看著他們那樣，我也默默地把稿子在心中念了一次，然后邁著沉重的腳步到了參賽大廳，上一組的同學(xué)出來，我們這一組就開始了，只見我前面的同學(xué)讀的很流利，我很緊張，生怕自己中間卡了殼。輪到我上場了，我的'緊張就像一陣風(fēng)一樣飄走了，我大方地走上臺，開始講述我的演講稿，我講的也很流利，還加了幾個動作，說完后還和評委說了謝謝。評委老師根據(jù)我的內(nèi)容用英語向我提問三個問題，我也用英語回答了老師，從評委老師臉上的表情看他們對我感覺很好。

　　明天就可以在網(wǎng)上查我成績了，我希望能進(jìn)入復(fù)賽，然后進(jìn)入決賽。

　　媽媽的話：睿參加是第六屆全國英語口語大賽山西選拔賽，準(zhǔn)備的不是很充足，老師一共輔導(dǎo)了兩次，我們就在家讓睿多練習(xí)，前一段時間要期末考試就沒怎么管，也不知道什么時候比賽，老師通知比賽我們才管了管，上去自我感覺還不錯，今天電話通知睿進(jìn)入了復(fù)賽，7月8、9號比賽，我覺得已經(jīng)很不錯了，不管能否進(jìn)入決賽已經(jīng)不重要了，重要是過程，讓孩子體會一下比賽過程我覺得比拿獎更為的重要。

　　前一段時間，我參加了“希望之星”英語比賽，沒想到進(jìn)入了復(fù)賽。復(fù)賽比初賽難多了，初賽只需要用英語進(jìn)行自我介紹，再加上才藝表演就行了，而復(fù)賽呢，除了這兩項之外，還要看圖用英語說句子。比賽的圖片有20多張，比賽前兩分鐘進(jìn)行抽簽、準(zhǔn)備，然后就要上場了。

　　這一個禮拜，我一直在為比賽做準(zhǔn)備，可是因?yàn)閳D片太多了，時間又緊張，所以我只準(zhǔn)備了其中的10多幅圖片。

　　星期六下午，媽媽陪我去參加英語比賽。抽簽的時候，我看見我準(zhǔn)備的圖片都被別的`小朋友一張張抽走了，心里有點(diǎn)兒緊張。輪到我了，果然，我抽到了一幅沒有準(zhǔn)備過圖片，我想：“這下可完了，真倒霉！可是，都已經(jīng)到了，也沒辦法了，只能再努力準(zhǔn)備一下了�！鄙蠄龅臅r候，我不再緊張，我大方地做了自我介紹，并唱了一首英語歌，看圖說話開始了，大屏幕上出示了圖片，老師把話筒遞給我。我先介紹了圖片上的人物，在介紹他們在干什么，30秒中里面，我大概說了八、九個句子。

　　比賽結(jié)束了，媽媽表揚(yáng)我發(fā)揮的很好。不知道會不會進(jìn)紹興市的比賽，但是不管結(jié)果如何，這都是一次很好的經(jīng)歷。

　　The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium. By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled.

　　The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start.

　　Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. There is a rest period between the halves.

　　During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other.

　　The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win. The ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. The whistle blew and the game was over. Home team won, 70 to 68.

　　Today's competition has two phases: The first phase is a 5 minutes’ speech show, which composes 60% of the score. In this part, the contestants are supposed to make a 3 minutes’ impromptu speech according to the topics , and then they will answer the questions raised by our judges, and the time limit is 2 minutes.

　　And the second phase is the role play of each contestant, which takes 40% of the final score. Every one of them will be given 5 minutes to display their role they selected beforehand.

　　After the performance by the contestants, our judges will give fair judgment according to the comprehensive performance of each contestant. We will have one champion, two second prizes winners, three third prize and the rest contestants will get the Excellence Award. I wish all of them achieve a lot, and have good luck.
